The Dallas Cowboys have lost to the Vikings and the main reason is Tony Romo. Toward the end of the game it looked as if Romo gave up. The fact remains that although the Cowboys won one playoff game this season they will NEVER win a Super Bowl with Tony Romo as the QB. Time for Romo to go to give this talented team a chance to succeed.

new season
ok we are back and ready for a new football season! Last year after the cowboys lost the playoffs there was not much to write about. The NY Giants were successful in the Super Bowl and we were happy about that. Meanwhile the new season is upon us and the Texas Longhorns are nationally ranked. We will see what happens. Our hope for this year is that the Longhorns will be able to beat A&M, oklahoma and Kansas State. There is already so much to hate about OK and KS but the only thing that matters is kicking their ass on the football field. Thank God Kansas U beats State each year! Ha ha a little justice.

How about them Cowboys!
Yup it was pretty sad. And yes as a life long Cowboy fan I blame Romo, but I also hold Jerry Jones responsible and Jessica Simpson. She could have waited to date him until after the season. Again, that’s part his fault too. As long as the chase was on, he was good. And Jerry, what kind of businessman are you? You paid out big time, knew you would have to, but should have waited until the end of season. But rewarding Tony early allowed him to sit back and relax. He just blows off losing and why shouldn’t he, he’s got his millions and now he can spend all his time with Jessica. What does he care? Why should he? That’s why I hate the pros. Once these guys get their millions, they ease up, play it safe. College guys and under-paid players are hungry, they play hard. and its good to reward them but wait until the off season. Make sure they don’t choke like Romo did, again. Not just him, but the whole team this time played sloppy like they did not care. Pretty sad, for the fans anyway.

Now the pros
Now that college football is basically over we have to focus on the pro teams. As much as I like my home state Dallas Cowboys, I’m afraid they cannot make it three in a row. I predict they will lose to the New York Giants, even though the Cowboys may be the actual better team of the two.
Secondly I want to encourage pimping Portis to focus on his football “talent” and get his team to practice more so they might improve next year. Instead of wasting his money on his pimp clothes and defending dog killing criminals like mike vick he should focus more on football practice and further improve his “skills”. He might also take some college English classes now that he has time off and improve his public speaking. Good luck with that.

Another #1 goes down
Ohio St rank #1 in the nation loses to Illinois 28-21. This leaves LSU and Oregon to take over the two top spots. Texas beats out TX Tech should move into top ten but I doubt Ohio St will fall out of top ten. Georgia rank #10 beat out Auburn. Still have two more top teams to play tonight.

4th and 8, 45 seconds left, what do you do?
blow the game and a 40 plus year tradition if you are coaching the fighting Irish! An unbelievable call. It is 4th down, 8 yards to get a first down, within field goal range, 45 seconds left in the game, tie score and Notre Dame goes for it! Sure its against Navy, but why risk it. Your season sucks but at least you have a chance at winning your second game. Instead you blow forty years of tradition. Unbelievable!
On a better note, the Texas Longhorns look good in the 4th quarter as the mount an incredible comeback to once again beat out OK State. Nothing like a 21 point rather and a hell of a lot of luck to miss a simple field goal. But it was fate. That’s why players from TX should not go to school in OK. There should be a special state tax on that.
Cowboys rolling to super bowl. The Dallas Cowboys trounced the Eagles last night and look good enough to take the NFC all the way to the big show. But then again we have to see how they hold up under the pressure of the play offs. But odds on, I think they can do it.

Spoke too soon
From my last post a lot has happened. The Dallas Cowboys have only one loss although they have not played that great. The Houston Texans on the other hand have been a huge disappointment. They have not played too badly from the games I have seen but they are at 3 and 5 now, I believe.
On the college front my beloved Texas Longhorns fell badly although in the latest rankings they are very near the top 10. The surprise at this point are the teams from Oregon and Arizona State. Oklahoma has sure rebounded from their one loss to Colorado although I don’t see how they can be in the top five when there are undefeated teams way down the list.

The Pros
At the risk of speaking too soon, I do want to give my two Texas pro football teams credit. They are kicking some butt. I am most impressed but obviously don’t see undefeated seasons for both but as I watch the Houston Texans I am more inclined to think Dallas will be the team to screw up first. The Texans were very impressive in their comeback blowout win over Carolina, but lets face it, it was Carolina. I was a little disgusted at first to see the Texans dismiss former QB Carr just a year or so after passing up Vince Young or Reggie Bush from the draft. Not that I thought Carr was all that great but they kept him and chose a defensive player who has turned out to be very good. Anyway it looks like things are moving in the right direction for both our Texas teams. It will be interesting to see games against the Colts or New England. Altho Indianapolis seemed to have a tough go their last game, against none other than the Titans and Vince Young.

Solid weekend
Much to my surprise there are still teams out there scoring 50 or more points in a game. I guess I should not be surprised as most teams take the first 2 or 3 games easy. Some of the tougher games, LSU won, Oregan won. Of course Texas won, although it seemed like people wanted it to be closer or wanted them to lose. As I predicted Boise St had a tough time with Washington and ended up losing. Texas A&M had a hell of a game, they won in triple overtime. But their little dog mascot was not there to see it. He got his tail stepped on and was sent to quarantine because he bit his handler. But hell I would be mad too if you stepped on me. It just goes to show you that we need to get rid of live animal mascots all together. LSU made the mistake of buying another tiger. The guys on t.v. made a big deal about a million dollar cage for it to live in but how boring is that. He cannot roam freely and has no interaction with any other animals. Wow what a great life! Anyway back to what matters. Texas won, oh ya I said that already. It wasn’t pretty but they won. They do need to get tougher if they expect to win the big games. Lots of jokes going around the e-mails about how some of the idiots on the team have had trouble with the law. But in the end I think they will do pretty good. Colt looks strong and back to his old self, but oh yes one note, hey Colt QUIT RUNNING WITH THE BALL. You do quite well but if you get hurt again the season is over because your team does not know how to win without you. So if you absolutely have to run with the ball get out of bounds or slide asap. PLEASE! Gotta go, hook ‘em horns!
